Like many higher education institutions, the University of Illinois system includes many historic and mid-century buildings as well as newer structures that require regular maintenance and upkeep. FOS of CannonDesign partnered with the university to perform facility condition assessments of 151 buildings across its Urbana-Champaign and Springfield campuses—totaling more 13 million SF. These assessments gave the university a crystal clear understanding of the condition of its building assets as well as any maintenance, repair or replacement that was required. Cost estimates were provided with each of our recommendations to give the university the clarity needed for capital planning.
