Two Emerging Leaders

June 7, 2023

At FOS, we’ve always said it’s all about the people. That sentiment rings true, especially this month, as we’ve promoted two emerging leaders within our firm! Please join us in congratulating Kelly Sheldon for her promotion to Marketing Manager and Tyler Jeter for his promotion to Architectural Assessor.

The following announcements were written by FOS President, Joe Cassata:

Kelly Sheldon is an experienced grant writer with over a decade of involvement and an enthusiasm for helping mission-driven organizations. She has spent most of her career fundraising for a variety of non-profits, before joining FOS as a Content Marketing Specialist in early 2022. I’m thrilled to announce that her efforts with our firm have not gone unnoticed; please join me in congratulating her on this well-deserved promotion to Marketing Manager.

Born and raised in Western New York, Kelly had moved away but returned to the Buffalo area in 2016 with a passion to make Buffalo’s upward trajectory felt by all segments of the population, which is what led to her work with non-profits. While at FOS, Kelly has been a tremendous collaborator, leader, and advocate — helping to grow the practice and FOS brand (including both professional services and software products). She is a vital aspect of our process to responding to requests for proposals; without her exceptional organizational abilities and keen sense for an attention to detail, we would not be where we are today. Kelly rises to any and all challenges thrown her way, and fearlessly works alongside our marketing group. If you were to ask any member of the team, they would tell you what an asset Kelly is and I’m delighted to welcome her skills as our new Marketing Manager.

When asked how she will continue to make an impact at FOS, Kelly said “It feels like my whole career has been a series of deadlines — this background has prepared me well to take the reins on the FOS proposal process and build in new ways to track our progress to further improve the quality and consistency of our proposals.”

In this new role, Kelly will be leading all steps in the proposal process and ensuring that the resulting documents adhere to brand standards — while accurately reflecting what our team brings to the table. She’ll be managing the FOS marketing team and training new team members as we continue to grow. In addition, Kelly will help with curating and maintaining our content library while participating in strategic planning efforts.

When it comes to our firm’s maxims, Kelly most embodies “lead with optimism” and “be meticulous.” Staring at a calendar of deadlines can be daunting, but having a leader and teammate like Kelly who is up for the task, full of optimism, and ensures we have some fun along the way makes it better. Her meticulous nature ensures that FOS is always represented in its best light. Congrats again Kelly!

I’m thrilled to announce the well-deserved promotion of Tyler Jeter to Architectural Assessor! This advancement is a testament to Tyler’s exceptional dedication, hard work, and invaluable contributions to our firm.

Since joining us in 2019, Tyler has consistently displayed an unwavering commitment to excellence. He has demonstrated his ability to navigate complex challenges and find innovative solutions — all while collaborating with and inspiring his peers. In this new role, Tyler will continue taking an active part in facility condition assessments across the country while providing lasting solutions for our client’s building challenges.

“I’m looking forward to working more closely with clients and building staff. Being able to impact real change is a great feeling, and this new role will further empower me to help our clients and the communities they serve succeed.”

As a firm, we use our maxims as skills that help us move the needle for career effectiveness and success within our firm. I believe Tyler embodies the “Do good – Do right” mentality, and he just so happens to agree. “I believe that if you do good work, it’ll be right, and if you do it right it’ll turn out good for you. So far, it’s been accurate not only in my own experience, but for FOS as a company as well. We do great work because we do it right and when we do things right the work turns out great for all involved.”

Please join me in congratulating Tyler on this well-deserved promotion! We’re fortunate to have such an exceptional individual as part of our team. I look forward to witnessing his continued success and contributions to our company's journey.
