Providing “Health For All”

February 2020 - Present

With the slogan “health for all,” we knew providing a 10-year facility condition assessment program (FCAP) for Allegheny Health Network (AHN) would be an important challenge. AHN, based in Pittsburgh, is a non-profit academic medical system committed to serving their community. FOS of CannonDesign was brought in to provide a pilot assessment for AHN across 7 hospital campuses, 57 buildings, and 5.8 million square feet- allowing us to prove we put our clients first.

This pilot assessment had a complex scope of work, encompassing varying levels of detail across buildings, equipment, interiors, and clinical spaces/equipment. FOS was able to successfully complete a facility condition assessment (FCA) across building and site infrastructure, while simultaneously providing asset tagging of over 3,000 datasets in one building. Those asset tags were then used to populate AHN’s Archibus platform. Overall, our work on this pilot included a facility equipment condition assessment (FEA), a facility condition assessment, facility condition interior assessment (FIA), clinical condition assessment FGI and PX (CCA), and a clinical equipment condition assessment (CEA).

After the successful pilot, FOS was awarded a contract for a 10-year FCAP for deferred infrastructure planning. As of February 2022, this project is currently in progress. The FCAP will allow AHN to understand the total deferred maintenance deficiencies (DMD) and current replacement values (CRV) by campus, by category, and by equipment type over the next 10 years. AHN will be able to understand the total capital funds needed to address these DMDs while assessing the condition of clinical areas in relation to FGI guidelines and patient experience.
